About us
Software may have eaten the world. Now, configuration is devouring software. At CUE Labs, we’re here to end the configuration chaos.
We lead the development of the CUE open-source project and deliver the tools and services that make configurations easy to manage.
We help organizations and teams to unify configuration across fragmented systems and silos. We make configuration complexity manageable, predictable and scalable. We help you move fast without sacrificing stability. The result: systems that behave as expected—every time.
Careers
We always want to hear from people that share our passion for solving configuration and all its complex challenges.

Founders

Marcel van Lohuizen
Co-Founder & CEO
Marcel van Lohuizen is the original creator of CUE and CEO and
co-founder of CUE Labs. Before CUE Labs, Marcel spent nearly 20 years
at Google, where he co-created Borg (the precursor of Kubernetes), led
the development of GCL, contributed to Go, and studied system
outages. His experience with large-scale configurations now drives
CUE’s mission: to simplify complex configuration and make
infrastructure reliable, maintainable and scalable.

Paul Jolly
Co-Founder
Before co-founding CUE Labs, Paul was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs
working in the Securities Division. He then co-founded a financial
modeling start-up using constraints to establish a source of truth for
financial data, and co-created Play with Go, an interactive learning
platform. With a strong background in backend systems and developer
tooling, Paul makes powerful tools more accessible and reliable.
